3. Google Translate  (http://translate.google.com)

The accuracy of “Google Translate” (English vs. Korean) is about 50-100% for short sentences and texts. That is higher than Kevin thought it would be. This software is always improving and we should take advantage of this opportunity. We can use it to teach like Korean English teachers.

3.1 For teachers: An emergency method to help to teach beginners: Google Translate

If a beginner student didn’t prepare anything before class and the student didn’t understand the texts much, even though the teacher has tried to explain a lot.

  1. Then the teacher should try to use Google Translate.

  2. Google Translate is our last method. We don’t like it much, if there was an alternative. But Google Translate can save our class.

  3. This technique should be used for low level textbooks only such as Super Easy Reading or Very Easy Reading. The most difficult books are School Subject Reading books.

3.2. For students: Google Translate is a good thing to prepare before class for all kinds of levels students, especially when they read texts. Please introduce it to your students in class.
