Mickey's Winter Story

Hi, everyone! My name is Mickey. Today, I’d like to share with you about snowboarding that I experienced this winter. Last week, I went on a company outing to Muju Resort in order to enjoy skiing and snowboarding together with all of the colleagues in my branch. Since the event was adopted by majority, I couldn’t help but accept it. I know that skiing & snowboarding are one of the most popular winter sports among the young people not only in Korea but also all over the world but when I first heard that it was chosen as our last picnic this year, I was a little bit disappointed at the decision because I had a terrible memory to fall heavily on my backside repeatedly sliding down the snowy hills before. As scheduled, we went there shortly after work on the very Friday of last week and my performance can be at least better than before was what I told myself at first because this is my second time to do it but it wasn’t. But the biggest difference between last time and this time was the fact that I could get the hang of how to entertain myself with this sport. Of course, I fell down dozens of times and even scraped my knee. Nevertheless, I don’t know why but it evoked my challenge. Believe it or not, I tried snowboarding in an advanced course and came down in S-shaped curve from the top of the hill felling down over and over. I’m not a person who tells a lie so you have my word. Other than that, the things that make me feel good were to be able to get a fresh air by going up with lifts & down with my snowboard as well as throw away my stresses that have accumulated to me owing to hectic work of my life. A fear didn’t stop me and from that experience, I learned the lesson that nothing venture, nothing gain. I still ache all over my body but this good memory or reminiscence will remain in my heart for quite a long time and furthermore, I will apply this experience to my real life too. If someone may hesitate to try due to your respectively old age even though you want, I sincerely recommend you to give it your best shot with courage. It’s never too late to learn. I’m sure that you will like it as much as I did. Merry Christmas and I cordially wish you guys all the best luck in 2011.
