Today is Groundhog Day in my country. It is a tradition that was started in Pennsylvania, USA in 1887. Groundhogs are animals that sleep during the winter. On February 2nd, the tradition is that Phil the groundhog wakes up and comes out of his hole and looks around. If he sees his shadow, he gets scared and goes back into his hole, and sleeps longer while we experience 6 more weeks of winter weather. However, if he does not see his shadow, he stays out of his hole and we begin to experience early spring weather. Phil is accurate 37% of the time, which is more than most weathermen.
