1. Host: Megan

2. New teacher: Lowrie from Vermont. B.A. in English, Vassar College, NY

3. We accept the copyrights of our textbooks. If you use more than 10 pages of a book, students should buy the book in general.

4. If you use books other than our textbooks, please tell Kevin what book you are using. Kevin will check to see if the book is available in Korea. The student should buy it at a bookstore, or Kevin will send it to the student. Books are not so expensive in Korea.

5. Multi-media writing contest scores sheet:

--If the student sends a video they are automatically entered into the finalist selection (last year we had 14 finalists)

--The judges will give 2 score, 1 for the video and 1 for the writing

--Do not feel the need to give young students more points because they are young. There is a prize for junior contestants.

--After all the scores are pulled, Kevin will adjust them to compensate for the lowest and highest marks. The teachers do not worry about this. Basically, the scores (whether they are high or low) will be computed to pull them closer into the average.

6. We will watch the winners’ videos of Multi-media writing contest 2010 today.
