HOMEWORK: due Thursday or Friday the 2nd or 3rd
Write 3-4 sentences about a dream that you have had. As always please pay attention to the tense or form of verbs: (past, present, future) and try to make sure they are all the same. This will be in the past tense because when you write about the dream you will have already had it.
example: Last night I dreamed I was in a magical jungle. All of the plants in the jungle were alive! One plant had a big purple flower that looked like a dog's face. One plant had a bright pink flower with long scary teeth--it made the sound of a tiger and tried to eat me
Week of 1/16
HOMEWORK: due Friday the 27th
Please write 3-4 sentences (a paragraph) telling me about what you did/will do for the new year. You mentioned a family reunion at you grandparents: some things you might talk about are traffic, the trip, the family members you saw, what you ate, any games you played, how you felt etc.
Please pay attention to the tense or form of verbs: (past, present, future) and try to make sure they are all the same.
example (in the future): This weekend I will travel to Vermont to see my family. I will visit my mother, my sister, and our beautiful dog, Jasper. While I am* there we will make some delicious food and we will go to the mountain to ski. I will be very happy to spend time with my family!
example (in the past): Last weekend I traveled to Vermont to see my family. I visited my mother. my sister, and our beautiful dog, Jasper. When I was there I made delicious food and went to the mount to ski. I was very happy to spend time with my family!
* 'am' this word is actually in present tense--but it makes sense with the meaning/structure of the paragraph.
Week of 1/9
Homework: This week in 'A Day Off from School' pg 72 we read about a day Joseph does not have to go to school so that he can see (spend time with) his father. Why is it important to spend time with people in your family? Write 3--4 sentences about a day you were with your family or someone in your family (mother/father/grandparent). What did you do? did you tour a city? Go to a zoo or on a walk? Did you have fun? Did you learn something?
example: On Sunday I spent the day with my Mom. It was fun because we both like to go on long walks. We climbed a mountain together and ate sandwiches at the top! I think it is important to spend time with your mom and dad to show them that you love them.
Vocabulary and Phrases:
'Spend time with....' to be with someone
'Spend the day/week/year': to pass time or the day/week/year doing ________.
-verb forms: (present: spend, past: spent, future: will spend)
Week of 1/2
For Homework please write 3-4 sentences about what you would do with a million dollars for yourself (after giving some to your mom like you mentioned in class :)
Thanks!
Comments/Changes
There are only some small changes that need to be made: Good Job with this homework Eric!
when I get the million dollars, I am going to buy a new billding that is made of gold.
secend, I am going to go to a trip to the Europe.
third, I'm going to bild a church.lastly, I'm going to put in inthe bank
that's all that I want to do.
1. Capitalise the word at the beginning of a sentence: when = When, secend = Second, third = Third, lastly = Lastly, that's = That's
2. Spelling errors: billding = building, secend = Second, bild = build, inthe = in the
3. Other suggestions--we don't need 'the' in front of Europe because it is a proper noun (like a name), also 'go on a trip' not 'go to a trip'
Eric:
I visited my grandmother for the new year. We ate rice cake soup and played some games with the family. It was a very happy time!
By Eric Lee:
What I dreamed is I was living and a robot came to earth and the robot say don't speak or we'r going to go to the space.so we didn't speak. But I fight with a robot!!!
------------->
!!! But we didn't win. Suddenly,--->Bam!!!
someone kick the robot!!! So we win.
