The January Writing Assignment:

(Due FEBRUARY 6th)

Please write about a person who has inspired you--this could be a family member, a political leader, even a celebrity or great athlete--talk about why they are an inspiration and how they relate to your life and your plans for the future. Try to write about 6-10 sentences in less than 10 minutes. Don't worry if the grammar is not perfect. This will help me see what we should work on and is also good practice for the independent speaking tasks on TOEFL. 

Hints: 

Structure your response this way: 

-Name the person and say that they have been an inspiration

-Think of 2-3 reasons or qualities that make this person inspiring

-Think of synonyms or similar words to inspiring and use them so that your response is not too repetitive (such as motivating, encouraging, influential)

-Write about how their special qualities or abilities can apply to your life, your goals and dreams, your future etc.
