Some writing highlights from my students:

David's Zombie Story: 

Once upon a time there was a boy and girl named Thompson and Jaden. Thompson was afraid of ghosts and Jaden said there was no such things as ghosts. But on the way home they saw a spooky house. There was green slime coming out of the windows! They went inside and they found a great surprise: there were skulls on the bookshelf and eyeballs inside a jar. Thompson ran away because he was scared. But Jaden was not scared so he was still there looking for ghosts. But then a zombie came out with green skin. Jaden ran away. The zombie followed. Jaden slammed the door and the zombie ran away. When Jaden and Thompson were running other zombies were coming forward. There were zombies everywhere! They ran back in the house but there were zombies there too, as well as skeletons that were attacking. They punched through many of the zombies and skeletons but there were 5 zombies left. Their names were Zack, Jack, Quack, Tack, and Attack but they weren't doing anything. The other zombies got up, opened the door, and ran out, but these 5 did not run out. "I think those 5 are 'fraidy cats" said Jaden. "I hope so" said Thompson. Then Thompson and Jaden followed the 5 zombies into a room and locked the door. There was a small window so the 5 zombies and the two children threw themselves out the window...

An Embarrassing day by Ye-Eun:

I was young at that time, beginning middle school as a first year. Most circumstances seemed new. I had a new school, new teacher, and I had to make new friends. One day I met a girl at school lunch who came to talk to me. She asked "Do you live in the Vivaldi Apartments # 5555?" I was surprised. Then she asked "Do you have three bicycles, live on the second floor, and have a brother named Hoon Kang? I asked "How do you know about me?" She said I live upstairs one floor in your building. I understood but I kept thinking, she is a stalker!

Julie's Super Hero Story:

Super Low and Wonder Yoojung met in Seoul because they were very good friends. They were there on a special job: looking for pets who were taken from Wonder Yoojung's best friend by a famous theif. The theif is a man who is short and fat, his name is Jack. The thief took a dog and cat named Ben and Sam. They will go look for them in the streets. They will look for the black dog Ben and the white cat Sam everywhere. When they catch the thief they will take him to the police.

Pristine's Story:

Once upon a time there was a handsome dog named Harper and a very beautiful princess dog named Lowrie. They fell in love. They were  friends with a wonderful young girl named Pristine. One day they went to a restaurant, but they didn’t know it was a “Monster Restaurant.” Harper was very hungry so he ran for the strange restaurant.

But Lowrie was scared. She said Pristine "Save us from the monsters!"

Pristine said “It’s ok, the owner of the Monster Restaurant is my husband and there are no real monsters there! He is very kind and very handsome and he takes care of our children, a little 3-year-old daughter and a new baby who is SOOO cute!”

Lowrie really loved the baby, whose name was Lina and they became very good friends. Lina would ride on her back and laugh and smile. Harper really liked Pristine's older daughter, Christina, and they would play together all day.

When Harper couldn’t find her he would cry "Christina, Christina where are YOUUUU!"

And Pristine would call him, "Come here Harper, here is Christina! Come Harper. It's ok!"

One day Pristine said to her husband... "my dogs are afraid that monster's will come to our Monster restaurant and steal Christina and Lina. We need to change the name of the restaurant." Together they decided to give the restaurant a new name "The Wonderful Restaurant." All the food was WONDERFUL so many people came. Soon they had the most popular restaurant in London!

One night Lowrie was feeling sad and tired. She said “Let’s go home” but Harper said “no, we can’t go home! I want to marry you tonight. I can not wait another day!”

“Of course I will marry you! I love you Harper but let’s wait until tomorrow.”

Harper said “Ok”

So the next day they got married, on the beach in shadow of a big, beautiful mountain.

2 years later-

Pristine called Lowrie and said “Lowrie I have a big surprise to tell you, the doctor you will have puppies. 10 puppies! They can play with my new baby Lindsey when they are born. Lowrie was afraid but excited to have ten new puppies.

After she had the puppies she was very tired. But Pristine took her home and helped because she had three babies also. Harper was so happy he howled “Happy Birthday songs” all night long.
