Hi, my name is Kelly Park, I am 15 years old and in the 8th grade.

 

I want to tell you about my fun summer vacation in New York! Last summer, I went to New York with my family to visit my English teacher's family. Before we left I was really excited to be going to New York. Although, it wasn't my first time in the U.S.A, it would be my first time in New York. Actually, I had been to the US 4 times before: Three times to San Francisco to visit my cousin and once to Alaska just to see what it was like there. I thought New York would be completely new and different. I couldn't wait to see what it was like.

 

We left from Incheon Airport early in the morning, I was still very excited to go to New York but the plane ride was so long that I became a little bored. All I did was watch movies and sleep. But finally we arrived in New York! I couldn't wait to see all the famous places, but I thought that we didn't have enough time to see everything. We would stay just one week. On the first day we only had time for lunch in the city before we left for Albany. We ate New York style pizza and it was delicious! After lunch I went to Albany where my teacher's family lived, and I stayed there for 5 days. In Albany we had a party and I taught my teacher's family how to play the Korean game, “Yoonnori”.

 

I thought Albany was very clean and beautiful. I finally went back to New York City on the 5th day. I went to Times Square, the Statute of Liberty, and the Empire State Building. It was great. I bought some souvenirs for my friends. I thought New York was very exciting and active. After dinner we went to the airport and we arrived in Korea in the morning. New York was such a big city with so many people. Going to New York taught me that there are lots of people in the world.
