I bowed at my grandmother, so she gave me money. I visited and paid respect at my grandfather's grave. On New Year's Day, I sleep and eat a lot. My grandmother and mother cook the food I eat. My grandmother prepared the food a week in advance. About 20 people visited our house and ate my grandmother's food. This New Year's Day is a very important day because I miss my family and this gives me a chance to see them.

Lucius and Iris

On Saturday, Lucius played with his friends at the playground and Iris prepared food for Sunday. On Sunday, Lucius went to his grandfather's brother's house, but Iris cooked with her mother and grandmother. New Year's Day is important to Lucius because it's a new start, and it is important to Iris because she turns another year older.

On Saturday, I played with my friend at our houses. I found a new game to play on Naver called IV. I like this game because it scares me. On New Year's Day, I didn't have a schedule, but I did eat special food in the morning. The food I ate is called... TBC

On Sunday morning, I was sleeping. At 9 o'clock, I woke up and I went to my aunt's house. On Sunday at noon, I was eating a Korean stew teokguk (a rice-cake stew). My aunt cooked the soup for us. I received money from my aunt for the New Year because my grandparents are dead.

I went to my aunt's house, ate meat and rice cake soup, and played with my sisters on Sunday. I bowed to my grandfather and aunts so they gave me a lot of money. I like the New Year's Day because I can meet my grandfather and aunts and play with my sisters. New Year's Day is important becuase we can see our family, learn about their lives, and play with them.
