This September 2013, the board will be used as a white board (in a classroom). This first time will be simple. A poster is shown below. Please complete the short assignment written at the end. Post your answer as a comment by Sept 1st!!
1. Write three sentences and use two descriptive words per sentence. ["per" in this sentence means "in each"] Choose unfamiliar words!!
My example:
The benevolent brother went to the market for his pregnant gloomy sister.
2. Define the words you used in your sentences
My example:
benevolent- adj., usually describes a person who means well on other people, is kindly and giving
gloomy- adj., describes a dark or poorly lit area (often sad), sight, or person but can also
describe other things like animals
Another example (written by my dog) of how your comment should look:
1. The gruelingly hot walk you made me do was blissful for my mind.
grueling- adj., extremely tiring and demanding
blissful- adj., extremely happy, full of joy
[Write three sentences and six definitions!!!]
1. A tremendous number of people...
tremendous- huge; notable by reason of extreme size
blissful- extremely happy, full of joy
2. The game's rules are too complicated...
complicated- consisting of parts intricately combined
jolly- happy, joyful, sharing, warm, carefree
3. She snapped on the tough couch.
snap- easy; quick
tough- adj., strong, sturdy, long lasting, unemotional
wee- very small; very early <wee hours of the morning>
These are beautiful sentences. Great job!
Only one comment about punctuation:
When we use quotes + said (told, yelled, etc.), we place a comma after said.
"I halfheartedly said, 'Thanks a lot'..." [note- I replaced your " with ' because I am quoting you.]
