Multimedia Writing Festival: http://aloud.kr/xe/index.php?mid=advantages&document_srl=24739
Last year's examples: http://aloud.kr/xe/wf
Festival details: Every year in December we have a contest for students. Students can submit a written speech with or without a video on a specific topic. Students work together with our American teachers during their lessons to work on their entries. The teacher can help the students with pronunciation and grammar, and the students can practice their presentations.
Judges: There are six judges doing the evaluation. The judging is very fair, the highest and lowest scores are thrown out, with four scores remaining for each student.
Theme: Last year the topic was a choice between "My Summer Story" or "My Winter Story". These will be the topics again for this year.
Submissions: Students must submit their essay AND video to John's Board by December 1st.
Teacher John can post student submissions to the festival board between December 1st through December 26th. However, if entries are posted on December 1st (festival opening), then students have an opportunity to get more clicks for the most viewed video. After December 26th, the festival is closed.
Prizes: Students can win two prizes, either most views or best video.
Students: Students must select either "My Summer Story" or "My Winter Story."

Junior contestants are middle school students or younger. Younger students will receive extra bonus points onto their scores. Multimedia submissions need not be memorized, however, the candidates who are pretending to have memorized their speech cannot win the first prizes (Grand Prize for Multimedia or Junior Grand Prize for Multimedia), even though they got high enough scores to win. They could win the 2nd prizes and the prizes for Writing of course.
Judges: Megan, Lowrie, Lindsey, Joshua, John, Dawn
We have six judges from our school. The minimum and maximum scores from each judge will be discarded. We will add all remaining scores to select the winner. Students should first post their entries onto their teacher’s board. The teacher will help them with editing.
The teacher will then post the final submission onto the board from December 1st: http://aloud.kr/xe/wf
