3. New Festival Themes

This year we will be changing the topic for the writing festival. As you know, in past years, we used the theme "My Winter or Summer Story".

However this year the topic will be: 

"Sharing our Favorite Books and Movies"

With this topic students choose a book or a movie and write about it. They can talk about the story, add to or change the story, or write a new story based on it. They can share their interpretation and explain why they chose that particular book or movie and/or write a critique explaining what they liked and didn't like about it.

Students can begin preparing for the next festival over the summer by reading and watching movies and talking about them with their teacher. This way they can choose their topic and be prepared in advance.
