Summer is a great time to see new movies in English. Here are some summaries and/or reviews written by my awesome students!

MINIONS MOVIE 

Tony's Summary

In the beginning the minions want to find a master. They only want the bad guys or villains to lead them. Finding a master is easy but keeping him/her alive is hard. For example, they found T-Rex, the vampire Dracula, and Pharaoh--but they all died.

In this movie three Minions leave  to find a new master. They go to the U.S.A., they go to a bad guy tournament, and they meet Scarlet Overkill "The Master." In the end, they find Gru--the villain in 'Superbad' or 'Despicable Me'!

Chloe's Review: My family didn't think Minions would be funny but we all liked it. My favorite part was when minion named Stuart goes to the bathroom and was very silly.

INSIDE OUT

Joseph's Summary

Score: 3/10  I was thinking 5 but when saw the end I lowered the score.

In Inside Out a new baby girl was born and five characters were born with her in the brain; Joy, Sadness, Anger, Disgust and Fear. The girl grew up and she has very many laughs and Joy almost always controled her brain. But sadness couldn't control the brain, she didn't like that. One day Sadness touched one of the core memories so it turned blue, so on the first day at her new school the girl almost cried. Then Joy and Sadness left the control center and entered memory. Anger, Disgust and Fear were in control. Joy and Sadness worked together to get back and saved the girl before she ran  away.

Tony's Summary

Score 7/10

Summary: The movie starts when the baby is born. Inside the baby's head there are Joy, Sadness, Fear, Anger and Disgust. They keep memories safe and they make choices. Joy makes most of the choices. One day, when the girl moves to a new city, Joy and Sadness leave the center part of the brain and they go to memory storage. Inside the girl's head there are only Anger, Fear and Disgust. Disgust makes the  girl picky, Anger makes girl angry, and Fear makes the girl scared. She decides she's not happy and she wants to run away, to go back home. At the end of the movie Joy and Sadness come back and Sadness saves the girl.

Joseph's Review

Score: 7/10

This movie is about dinosaurs living in the present. Jurassic World is about an amusement park combined with a zoo with living dinosaurs. My favorite about the setting (place of the movie) was where the water dinosaur lived. In that part the Jurassic World workers give the Mosasaurus a great white shark and the huge dinosaur jumps up in water and ate the shark. I also liked the T-rex and Velociraptor hybrid, which was much smarter than a regular dinosaur--that is the problem! She escaped from her area and killed dinosaurs and people for fun. Overall, the movie was very exciting and it made me nervous also!
