I'm going to introduce my favorite book, called The Maze Runner. The author of this book is James Dashner. I saw The Maze Runner movie first and then I heard that there is a series of Maze Runner books. So then I decided to read the first book in the series. This book is full of excitement and action packed scenes.  

In this book, the world has an epidemic called 'flare'. It starts because there is a sun's surface explosion phenomenon. It kills thousands of people and turns a land full of beautiful nature into a destroyed, barren land. This disease effects the brain and makes people crazy. Infected people do not feel emotions and die slowly. If an infected person bites an uninfected person, they will become infected also. So surviving countries make one big government, called 'Wicked', for human survival. That name stands for 'World In Catastrophe: Killzone Experiment Department'. They make a glade, surrounded by a maze. In the maze there are monsters called Grievers. Wicked brings young men with a brain structure that cannot be damaged by the flare virus, they are called Gladers. They put the Gladers in  many different variable situations and obstacles in the glade as an experiment. Wicked sees who can survive the obstacle courses, everyone who survives goes to the next level of tests. 

First Wicked sends about 20 people to the Glade. They also send one new person every month. Gladers' memories are deleted and they are given new names. Normally, they were sending one person per month, but one month they decide to send two people in the same month. Their names are Thomas and Theresa. Wicked believes Thomas and Theresa will make big changes in the Glade because they are so smart and they helped Wicked before losing their memories. Unlike the other Gladers, Thomas and Theresa quickly adapt to the situation. Both of them have some telepathy with each other, and they suspect that they are being used by Wicked.  

Thomas is angry about Wicked's brutality. Thomas becomes the leader of all of the Gladers. Even though the maze is a huge challenge, eventually Theresa solves the mystery and the Gladers are able to escape the maze. Unfortunately in the process of escaping the maze, 20 out of 40 people died in a fight with a Griever. Suddenly in a surprise ending of this book, some armed people appear and kill Wicked, while protecting the Gladers.  

This story, The Maze Runner,  is book 1 out of a series of 4 books. I recommend this book to all people who enjoy thrillers. The writing is so vivid that I feel like I can experience these adventures with the characters while I am reading this book. I am so anxious to read the rest of The Maze Runner books because they are shocking and exciting.
