Magic Treehouse - The Truth about Captain Hook
Annie was a smart and brave seven year old. She lived in the town of Frog Creek, Pennsylvania with her brother, Jack. Jack was ten years old. He liked to read books, so he was even smarter than Annie. They were special and lucky children because they found a magic treehouse one day when they were walking in the woods. When they read about wonderful places in books, the magic treehouse would take them there.
One day Annie found Peter Pan on the magic bookshelf, she touched the book and said “I wish I could go to Neverland!”
The wind blew and the treehouse turned around and around, spinning faster and faster, and finally slowing down. They arrived in the pretty forest of Neverland. They heard birds singing in the trees and saw monkeys swinging on the branches.
Suddenly, they heard a loud scream. Annie was curious, so she climbed down the ladder. Jack was not brave, but he followed Annie. They heard more screams, so they continued to follow. The screams were not far away now. It sounded like a young girl. They got closer and they could hear pirates yelling.
Finally, they got close enough to see. They saw a pirate being chased by a huge crocodile. The sounds of the ‘young girl’ were actually coming from the pirate captain, it must have been Captain Hook!
Annie giggled and Jack chuckled. Annie fell over and started holding her belly because she was laughing so hard, what a surprise that the scary pirate they read about was truly a woman!
The crocodile was trying to catch Captain Hook so that it could eat her for lunch! It was a little slower than Hook, but Hook was starting to get tired. Jack and Annie decided to help. They went behind the crocodile and started teasing him. They said, “You’re small!” This made the crocodile very angry, and it began to chase the children. They ran near the lake, but they had nowhere to run but into to the water, however, they didn’t know how to swim. Then, Jack had an idea. He called out to a monkey. The giant monkey reached down from a tree by the lake and picked up Annie and Jack. Then the monkey jumped down onto the crocodile’s back. The scared crocodile ran quickly to the lake and swam away.
Annie and Jack walked over to Captain Hook, who was very relieved. “Thank you for saving me from the crocodile,” she said.
“No problem,” answered the children.
Captain Hook gave them a golden watch as a thank-you-present. That night, they ate a delicious dinner together on Hook’s ship. After dinner, Captain Hook laughed and they all danced fun pirate dances into the night. Later, they returned to the treehouse and their home. But they had learned a lesson they would not forget: some people are very different from how they seem, bad characters may really be kind when we meet them.
The End.
