I am posting this picture for two reasons. The first reason is, of course, to show off my beautiful daughter. The second is to explain the American tradition of throwing coins into public water fountains.
It is very common for people to throw coins (pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters) into a water fountain. It is very difficult to find a water fountain in America that does not have coins in the bottom of it. There is a tradition that says if you make a wish and throw your coin in the fountain, it will come true. Although people don't believe this, they still do it for fun. Children love to practice this tradition the most.
