1. Student cards

This month October is the month for the control checking all of your student cards. Please update the cards by October 27th.

A student card should be completed by the teacher and Kevin, but the teacher is more responsible for the cards than Kevin. This is because the teacher knows much more about the student than Kevin. The card contains information for school use only. It is helpful principally for teachers. Evaluation sheets, on the other hand, addressed to parents or older students.

If the student changes their schedules and moves to another teacher, the new teacher will get the student card of the student.

The card's filename: Student's FamilyName_FirstName_Student's number

Example: Kim_Ruby_788 (The student's name: Ruby Kim. Ruby Kim's student number is 788)

Kim_Ruby_788_2006  (Ruby left the teacher in June 2020)

Kim_Ruby_788_Phoebe (Ruby has two teachers. Teacher Phoebe is also teaching her)

You should update your student cards when:

1. If there is a new student: You make a card for the student as soon as possible. Please fill out the form with the information you have.

You may not know, for example, the student's number or the student's Korean name. But don't worry, Kevin will complete it later. We are working together.

If it is a returning student, you should find the card in the folder "Your Old Students," copy it into your folder (Don't delete it in the folder, "Your Old students), and rename it, for example, Kim_Ruby_788 (Old name: Kim_Ruby_788_1809). 1809 means that she left our school in September 2018. However, she is back.

2. If your student starts a new book or material, please update that information. This is so Kevin will know what you are doing with your student eventually.

3. If one of your students leaves the teacher, please update the card as soon as possible. Add the year and the month to the name of the file such as: Kim_Ruby_788_2006 or 20June (Ruby left the teacher in June 2020): Student's Family_FirstName_(another teacher if applicable)_Year_Month.

4. If the student leaves you to move to another teacher, update the card immediately, before the new teacher teaches the student. Later than that would not help. If you do not update the card in time, Kevin has to call the parent to get the information needed, which is not an ideal situation.

5. If your student makes a new Skype id, you should update it on the card as soon as possible.

6. There is a control checking all the student cards four times a year Jan, April, July, October. You should update all of your student cards in those months.

7. Our student cards are primarily for our teachers and Kevin, while our evaluation sheets are for our parents and our older students.

8. Be careful to always follow the same order when listing the date: Year, Month, Day, to avoid confusion.

for example:

2020--02--04 (February 4th, 2020)

2020--06 (June 2020)

2006 or 20June (June 2020)

9: Year -- Month: The year and the month the student has taken classes. It is not the month of teacher's updating.

The format is year (double hyphen) month: Example: 2020--07

10: Date of Preparation: This is the date the teacher is updating the student card.

The format is year (double hyphen) month (double hyphen) day. Example: 2020--07--15 (July 15, 2020).

11: The starting date vs. the ending date

The starting date is when the teacher began teaching the student.

This only needs to be updated when a teacher begins classes with the student, not every time the card is updated.

The ending date only needs to be filled out when the student leaves our school or stops taking classes with that particular teacher, the format is the same as the starting date.

12. Background Information for learning (For example: Attending other academies, Very busy or too tired in class, too lazy, the mom is too ambitious, the student takes our class for fun):

This information is important to help another teacher better understand about how to teach the student. This is necessary especially if a student changes to a different teacher or if their teacher goes on vacation or is sick and a different teacher has to teach their classes.

This can also be a reminder for a teacher who has many students and needs help remembering the details about each one. It also can help when there are changes in the student's situation.
