2. Correcting students speech using "Opposite Dictation"

How to make corrections of students speech by typing what they say (aka "Opposite Dictation"):

What to do:
A good method for making corrections to students as they are speaking is to type what they say and then go through the notes together (sharing your screen). Most Korean students and/or parents find this to be an ideal method, so we recommend that teachers use this method at some time when teaching. This is not the only method to use, but it is one method that you should use.

Programs to use:
-For Windows users, a good program to use is Notepad (which is better to use than Microsoft Word)
-Mac users may have to use TextEdit, unless they can find a better program to install

When to use this method:
A good time to correct the student with this method is when they are summarizing a text. The student can retell the story to the teacher, as the teacher types what they say, sharing their screen. This works well, because in this situation the teacher has an understanding of what the student will be talking about, whether or not the student is able to express themselves clearly.

Don't forget to send the text to the student afterwards in a Skype message.

Example:
Watch the following video for a good example of the use of this correction method:

4. It is OK, if the candidate doesn't show up on the video. That is not the reason why judges give extra low scores to the student. Students can send us a video file or a audio file for the festival.  So we are expecting more students to join to our writing festival.

5. Continuing evaluation of the Writing Festival entries. Teacher's who are not judging should stay and watch until 12:30. You can leave after 12:30. Judges should stay and continue.
