Every Christmas my family and I decorate a tree. We put little Santa Claus decorations and many colors of shiny glass balls on the fresh green tree. We put lights around the tree. In the end we put a gold star on the top. We suspend our stockings in the living room on the tree.
Christmas is also a time that I make some delicious food. I eat grapes and oranges as I bake chocolate cookies. The kitchen smells very good at Christmas time. Each Christmas I go to the front of the university for a big outside market. I look at everything, and sometimes I buy something. They sell many beautiful clothes. Last year I bought a knit scarf for myself.
My family also writes a Christmas card every year. Usually it has pictures of the family on it. We also go to church. We learn about the child Jesus and the three kings who brought him gifts like perfume and gold. It's a nice story that tells all the main ideas of Christmas like family, children and giving gifts.
My favorite part of the holiday is staying at home and being with family. This year is even more special because we have our new dog, Jong. Maybe Santa Claus will bring her some delicious dog food. ;) Anyway, it will be nice to have Jong sleeping under the Christmas tree!
