Ryan's Summer & Winter Story
On my 7th birthday something magical happened. It was a cool, fall evening, and my mother said I had one last present to open, but it was hidden under my bed. I looked under my bed, and really far back I saw a shiny and pretty book I had never seen before. I reached for the book. I crawled all the way underneath until I had the book in my hands. I opened the book to the first page and started to read a little. The story was about the summer. I closed my eyes and thought, “I want to be in summer again.” When I opened them, it felt warm and I saw lots of people playing in a swimming pool. It was summer! In my hand, I had a magic pen. In front of me, there was a flower that gave me a magic summer bell. I walked around and tried to find my home. I saw a house that looked like mine, but when I went to the front door the Sun Monster appeared. She shot a hot laser at me. I pull out my magic pen, click the button and a magical bubble formed all around me and the laser bounced off and hit the sun monster. She didn’t die, so I used my magic pen to attack and she said, “Stop! I give up. I will help you find your home.” Then I used my pen and changed the season to winter. I walked everywhere until I came across a polar bear. The polar bear gave me a magic winter bell. Then I walked some more and a winter monster appeared. The monster threw snowballs at me. I got my magic pen out and made the magic bubble again. The snowballs bounced off and hit the monster, but he didn’t die. I took out my pen to attack again and made a giant snow pile in front of me to block the monster attack. The winter monster said he and the sun monster were friends and he would help me get home. Then I rang my two bells for 1 minute and Fall came back. I looked around and saw that the sun monster was a princess and the winter monster was a handsome prince. I pull out my magic pen and clicked, “Home.” I arrived and gave my mom a big hug. I said thank you for the present and that I would take other people with me next time. We helped the prince and princess get married in our backyard. Then, my whole family opened the book and went back to fight with the flower monster in Spring. I made sure everyone had a magic pen so we could get back home. It was a great birthday!
