Dave is talking about the difference between American parents and Korean parents. In America, when children say, “I love you, Dad,” the Dad says, “I love you too, son.” In Korea when children tell their Dad they love them, the Dad doesn’t say anything. If you invite friends for dinner, American parents ask, “Again, don’t your friends have their own house?” In Korea, the mother gives your friends lots of food.
After school, American parents say, “if you do your homework, you can watch TV or play video games.” In Korea, you must go to piano lessons, English class, etc., and when you get home you can do your homework.
On school vacation, American children go to Disneyland, Korean children do homework and go to an academy.
In Korea you move out of your parents house when you get married and in the US your parents say, “GET OUT!” when you are 20.
In the US when you graduate your parents say “congratulations,” but in Korea your Dad gives you money!
