First of all, children can feel it’s unfair to do chores and clean-ups by themselves, above and beyond of learning responsibility. They feel that it is unfair to do the works only by themselves, when the parents are just demanding to do the housework to them. Ironically, parents give their children chores to teach them responsibility, whereas it is an act far from responsibility.
Second of all, there are a variety of ways to teach children responsibility, other than giving children chores. There are a lot of ways to teach children how to work together. Such as outside activities, team sports, and camping. There are many ways which both children and parents are able to enjoy together.
To sum up, while some people think that the best way to teach children responsibility is to give them chores, I think that giving children chores doesn’t teach them. This is because children can feel unfair, and there are lots of ways to teach children responsibility beside of giving them chores.

One time my parents gave me chores to make me learn the virtue of work and responsibility. I found it boring and also very unfair because my parents were watching TV while I was doing my dishes. Ironically, parents give their children chores to teach them responsibility, whereas it is an act far from responsibility when parents evade housework and do not model good behavior to the children.
