What if Harry Potter was a villain? How would it change the story? What if Draco Malfoy, his evil classmate in the original series, was the good guy? Consider the following: Draco Malfoy is the hero and is trying to save Hogwarts, the school that teaches magic to children born to magical parents in a magical dimension of the real world, from Harry Potter. Malfoy’s sidekicks, Goyle and Crabbe, are Draco’s Ron and Hermione. Ron and Hermione were Harry’s best friends in the original story. Let’s see how the story’s point of view changes if Harry is evil.

Harry seeks revenge on Dumbledore, the head professor of Hogwarts, because he held him in captivity with his muggle (humans without magic) relatives in the muggle world. He pretends to be a kind student to win over the students and professors at Hogwarts. His plot is do lots of heroic acts and become a head boy in order to gain Dumbledore’s trust. Once he has his trust, Harry will kill him. Little did he know, Dumbledore was already dying of an illness. Thus, his plot was in vain.

Harry decided to form a new plot to control Hogwarts by becoming friends with Voldemort. Voldemort was a student who turned evil and was also bothering Hogwarts and Dumbledore on and off for 50 years. Harry often sought out Voldemort in his dreams to lure Voldemort to him.

Voldemort terrorized and killed many people's families including Harry Potter's. His weakness was Dumbledore, whereas Harry did not feel scared of him. Voldemort was also trying to kill Dumbledore, because he heard the prophecy about Harry. However, Voldemort didn’t worry about Dumbledore’s fate. He was more interested in Harry Potter. Harry Potter survived the death curse from Voldemort’s wand. Voldemort wanted to know why Harry survived the deadly curse. Thus, he entered Harry’s mind to control him.

The Horcrux, which is a piece of Voldemort’s soul, is embedded in Harry’s scar which Voldemort made by the death curse. Voldemort controls Harry’s mind and professor Snape assassinated Dumbledore in front of Harry. This cruelty broke the bond between Voldemort and Harry. Harry started to feel guilty for causing so much trouble for Hogwarts.

Although Harry’s guilt consumed him, he decided a world without Voldemort was the most important thing. Harry now seeks revenge with Draco to kill Voldemort so that no harm could come to their families again. They finally get revenge. However, what they got by killing Voldemort was absolutely nothing. In a way Harry and Draco end evil with an evil act. Therefore, Harry Potter can be considered the villain in the eyes of some readers.
