My Summer Story
We woke up at 6 a.m. to get ready to go to Ganwando Province for a vacation. It was a hot, rainy day. The afternoon was sunny. We left around 7 because we had to drive very far. It took about 5 hours to get to Youngwal City. In the car, I listened to music and talked to my family. We had been waiting for a long time to go there and the day had finally arrived.
I was excited to see Youngwol but when I saw it, it looked a little shabby. There were only two or three big buildings, they looked like houses. We went to a Korean history museum about coal. My sister was feeling scared because it was starting to get dark. She really seems to get scared a lot. Then, I saw the coal mining town residents and the old school in the museum. Inside, they had an old stove for a heater. This was all very interesting.
We walked to the car and we were going to get inside, but something happened. A grasshopper jumped on the top of mine and my mom's feet. She screamed! Then, I said a bad word...but my father laughed very much. He said, "You were more surprised than your mom!” On our way back home, we stopped at a restaurant and ate dinner. After dinner, my parents went fishing at a lake. It was night time. My sister was sleeping in the car, and I was listening to music in the dark.
This was the story of our family trip. It was an enjoyable day trip, when we went to an interesting place and returned home in one day. Next year, I hope my family spends even more happy times together.
