“I’m so excited,” I exclaimed, as I zipped up my suitcase. It was November 2011. I was going to America for the first time with two friends!

Before I left, I was so nervous, but, at last, I arrived in America. I quickly met the homestay family – the people I was going to be living with while visiting with my two friends. The homestay family lived in St. Louis, but their school was on vacation so they brought us to Chicago. We could sight-see in Chicago.

First, we went to the “Field Museum.” This was the set of a movie, but, I didn’t like it. It was a little boring. Next, we went to the pool. It was a huge pool! I was very excited. The following day, we went to both “Millennium Park” and an art museum. At the museum, I saw some paintings by Picasso and a few other artists. It was not very exciting, but it was okay. Finally, we saw the Sears Tower. It had a clear glass balcony where you could see far below! It was crowded, but wonderful. I loved the view!

Eventually, my Chicago trip came to an end, but I learned something important – I love America. I love telling the story of my visit to America and my warm winter.
