Multi-Media Writing Festival 2016/2017
Theme: Sharing an interesting book or a movie (animation, videos, series too).
150 words - 500 words. Please Note: If the writing is longer than 500 words, it will be disqualified.
Deadline: On Thursday, December 29, 2016
We will publish the list of winners on Monday, Feb. 27th, 2017
Choose a book or a movie and write about it. You can talk about the story, add to or change the story, or write a new story based on it. You can share your interpretation and, for example, explain why you chose that particular book or movie and/or write a critique explaining what you liked and didn't like about it.
Make sure you are writing your story for a person who has not read the book or seen the movie. If our judges don't understand the writing, it will be disqualified immediately. Please explain the context of your writing, for example: explaining any background information the readers may need.
Grand Prize for Multi-Media (Candidates should submit text and video or audio file)
Award: 1st Prize: Won 100,000.-; 2nd Prize: Won 50,000.-
Junior Grand Prize for Multi-Media (Same as above)
Award: 1st Prize: Won 100,000.-; 2nd Prize: Won 50,000.-
Grand Prize for Writing (Only texts will be considered, so all applicants will be considered for the Writing competition.)
Award: Won 70,000.-; 2nd Prize: Won 50,000.-
Teacher's Prize
Award: Won 50,000.- (The teachers donate 10 dollars for the prize)
Most viewed video Prize (for all participants): Award: Won 60,000.-
The clicks for a participant: Clicks on the festival board of our website (http://wf.aloud.kr) + clicks on YouTube.
The maximum amount of YouTube clicks counted is whatever number of EnglishAloud clicks that were received by the video. Example: if someone receives 50 clicks on our website and 100 clicks on YouTube, only 50 of the YouTube clicks are counted, total: 100 clicks. If someone receives 100 clicks on our website and 50 clicks on YouTube, total: 150 clicks.
Junior Prizes: Junior contestants are middle school students or younger. Younger students will receive extra bonus points onto their scores.
* EnglishAloud can send a webcam or a microphone instead of the cash awards, if the student's microphone or webcam is not good for class.
* Students should first post their entries onto their teacher’s board. The teacher will help them with editing. The teacher will then post the final submission onto the board beginning on December 1st: http://wf.aloud.kr
* English Aloud has the right to post all content from the contest on our website.
* Everyone should submit a writing about the topic. Please talk to your teacher about writing and discuss it in class. Some students may prefer to write it in class. Some students may want to write it alone. Every submission should be edited by the teacher in class or out of class.
