Multi-Media Writing Festival

매년 12월에는 학생들을 위한 영작문 페스티벌이 열립니다. 학생들은 특정한 주제에 대해서 영어로 된 발표문을 제출하게 되는데, 비디오를 첨부하거나 혹은 그렇지 않아도 좋습니다. 학생들은 저희 선생님들과 함께 수업시간에 함께 내용을 완성합니다. 선생님은 학생의 발음과 문법을 도와줄 것이며, 학생들은 자신의 발표를 연습해볼 수 있습니다.

여섯 명의 선생님께서 심사를 맡아주십니다. 심사위원 선생님들께서는 아주 공정하게 심사할 것이고, 가장 높은 점수(최고점)와 가장 낮은 점수(최저점)은 삭제되고 나머지 네 개의 점수만 합산됩니다.

작년 영작문 페스티벌의 주제는 "나의 여름 이야기" 혹은 "나의 겨울 이야기"였습니다. 학생들은 즐거웠던 자신의 실제 이야기를 제출했습니다. 이 경연대회는 학생들에게 동기를 부여하고 영어를 연습하게 하는 좋은 방법이었고, 다른 말하기 대회를 준비할 수 있는 기회였습니다. 많은 학생들이 학교 밖에서 진행되는 영어 말하기 대회에서 뛰어난 실력을 보였습니다. 위에서 영작문 페스티벌에 참가한 학생들의 비디오를 보면 알게 되실 것입니다!

Every year in December we have a contest for students.  Students can submit a written speech with or without a video on a specific topic. Students work together with our American teachers during their lessons to work on their entries. The teacher can help the students with pronunciation and grammar, and the students can practice their presentations.

There are six judges doing the evaluation. The judging is very fair, the highest and lowest scores are thrown out, with four scores remaining for each student.

 Last year the topic was a choice between "My Summer Story" or "My Winter Story". Students submitted some very entertaining and orginal entries! The contest is a great way to motivate students to practice their English as well as prepare for other speech contests. Many of our students excel at speaking contests that they enter outside of this school, you can tell just by watching the videos from our contest!
