A Summer European Adventure
Some of the comparisons we made were with the languages, weather, architecture and food. One of the interesting parts of the trip was trying to communicate to people in each country. They all knew and understood English because in Europe, they are required to learn English as one of their first languages. My best friend and I spoke English as well as we could to communicate and get around the countries.
The summer weather in Europe was much colder than in South Korea. However, when we reached Italy and Spain, it was much hotter there than Korea! The South Korean summers are usually warm and rainy.
The architecture between Europe, Italy, and England were very different. The Roman architecture that we saw in Italy was very different from the European styles seen in England and Europe. When we reached Germany, they also had a very different architectural style with lots of brown wood and different style roof tops.
The food was also very different in each country. In Germany, chocolate and sausages were very popular. In Italy, pasta and pizza were popular foods. In France, escargot and baguettes were very popular. Also, in Switzerland, we ate cheese fondue and Switzerland is also known for their special chocolate recipes. My best friend and I really enjoyed trying the traditional foods from each country. Our favorite traditional foods was from Italy. We really enjoyed the pizza and pasta dishes there.
My trip to Europe, Italy and England was very special because I got to travel with my best friend. I really enjoyed learning about the different cultures and traditions of each country we visited. My experiences on this trip have changed my views of the world and are ones that I will never forget.
