In the book A Little Princess there is a little girl named Sara. Sara has short black curly hair, and green eyes.  Sara is tall.

Sara’s mother died when she was young. Sara’s father, Captain Crewe took her to a boarding school. Her father is a soldier and has to go back to war. He is also wealthy.

The headmistress of the school, Miss Minchin, is really greedy, so she pretends to be nice to Sara because she wants to take Sara’s father’s money.

At the school, Sara makes some new friends. Their names are Becky, Lottie and Ermengarde.

One day, Sara's father died so the headmistress Miss Minchin forced Sara to become the school’s maid. Sara's father hadn’t left Sara any money because he had used all the money in a diamond mine and was broke when he died. Being a maid is so tiring to Sara, but Sara always uses her imagination to feel better. And sometimes, her friends go to her room and talk with her.

In the meantime, Sara's father's friend, Mr. Carrisford, is searching for Sara.

One day, she goes out to do an errand, and on the way, she notices a family with a monkey as a pet who has moved next door to the school. That night, the new family's monkey comes into Sara's room. So the next day, she goes to their house to give back the monkey.

She talks with the man of the house about her father, and Sara realizes the man is her father's friend. Mr. Carrisford tells Sara that her father’s diamond mine finally made a lot of money and was a great success. So now, Sara is rich.

So Sara doesn't go back to the school, and goes to live in the house with Mr. Carrisford’s family next door. And Sara's friend, Becky, leaves the school to become Sara's maid and live with Sara. And sometimes Lottie and Ermengarde go to the family's house and play with her.

I like the book A Little Princess because Sara is very positive even though she is forced to become a maid.
