Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children

The movie that I'm going to review today is Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children.

The main character is Jake. At the start of the story, his grandfather is murdered, and his body is found with the eyeballs missing. Jake thinks that monsters killed him when he is reminded of the stories that his grandfather told him in the past. So Jake goes to an island to find out if his grandfather's stories are real. His grandfather had told him about the strange children that lived in Miss Peregrine's house.

Miss Peregrine's children, known as the Peculiars, are in danger because of the invisible monsters called 'Hollows', who are also known as the bad Peculiars. The Hollows were once people with special abilities, but they joined a cruel experiment. There was a problem so they changed into monsters. The only way they can become humans again is to eat the eyes of special people.  

All the kids have special abilities, and Miss Peregrine protects them. One of the Peculiars, Emma is lighter than air, so she can fly. She can make winds blow in certain directions. Horace can show his dreams to others like a movie. Sometimes he predicts the future. Olive has the power of fire. Bronwyn is really strong. Fiona can make plants grow fast. Enoch uses small hearts to make dolls move. He collects hearts and puts them into the dolls. Then he controls them to attack. Then there are the twins. If you look in to their eyes, you will change into a rock.

Jake and the children must fight against the Hollows. The Hollows and their friends kidnap people including Miss Peregrine to continue their cruel experiment and it is up to the kids to stop the bad Peculiars. The kids throw candies and cream at one of the Hollows so that it is no longer invisible since the treats stick to its body. After that, the Peculiars defeat the rest of the Hollows easily.

At the end of the story, the Peculiars go to find a safer place to live. Jake decides to go home, but changes his mind and joins the children and Miss Peregrine in her home.
