The Adventure of Woody and Buzz from "Toy Story"
Toy Story is a movie by Disney-Pixar. It introduces a magical world of toys. This story focuses around two main characters, Woody and Buzz.
First: Woody. He is a cowboy toy. He is Andy's favorite toy but the situation changes when Andy gets a new toy, Buzz. In Andy's eyes, Buzz is a newer, more popular and more exciting toy. Woody is really jealous of Buzz.
Next: Buzz. He has his own problem which has to do with his identity. He thinks that he is a real space ranger and will return to space as soon as he fixes his spaceship. Woody tells him that he is just a toy and the spaceship is not real. When Buzz realizes that Woody is telling the truth, he falls into a deep depression.
Meanwhile there is a bigger and more pressing problem. They are in danger. They are trying to get home before Andy's family moves to a new house. Eventually Buzz and Woody find themselves in the home of a toy killer named Sid. Woody helps Buzz and they become friends. The plot centers around the toys' adventures trying to get Buzz and Woody back home and away from Sid.
In the end, they are able to forget their individual problems in order to work together. During their adventures, they have to accept their reality and move on. They are able to enjoy life with the other toys in Andy's house. Woody learns to accept and befriend Buzz, while Buzz learns to be okay with who he really is; a toy.
This is a great movie because almost everyone is able to relate to it. Even though the exact situations of the toys are unrealistic, the problems they face are very common. People often have to come to terms with who they are, accepting themselves as Buzz does in the end. We often get caught up in our own ambitions and selfish emotions, but when faced with real challenges we realize what is most important.
An interesting aspect to the movie is that when there are no people around, the toys come to life and talk to each other. This reminds me of the worlds that exist around us. We may not think about them, but they influence us. There are many things happening all the time that we don´t even realize. The unconscious world is a good example. We experience it a little when we dream while sleeping, and then forget it when we wake up. How strange our lives are!
