The summer of 2003 was an unforgettable one in my life. I went to Alaska that summer and I could feel all of nature. In Alaska, I could see many of the salmon which try to swim against the flow and the glacier which is so clean that it looks blue. And in Denali national park, (Denali is the highest mountain in the American continent and it has another name, McKinley.)
There, I can see many wild animals such as moose, bear, goat and so on. I took a light plane and could see the mountain very closely. I could feel the mountain's grandeur. When I almost got over the mountaintop, the pilot made the plane rush down toward the mountain, and then soar up again. It looked as if I became a bird, and I could have a thrill. Every day in Alaska I could experience the white nights, it really surprised me. Since Alaska is very close to the North Pole, the day lasts very long in the summer, the sky looks just like dusk even at midnight. I really love all the nature in Alaska.
Sadly, the temperature of the earth is increasing so the ice and the glaciers are melting because of global warming. It would be a great pity, if some years later I was unable to see that grandeur any more. We must do our best to stop global warming so we can preserve nature in Alaska. It is important to remember that nature is not only ours, but also our offspring's.
