Teacher Manual
What is a demo lesson?
A demo lesson is a lesson that is recorded and posted on our website.
1. The process of a demo lesson
1. 1. The teacher will choose a student. The student's class should be filmed.
1. 2. Kevin will ask the student's parents for permission to film the lesson.
1. 4. The video will be editied and English subtitled.
1. 5. The video will post on EnglishAloud YouTube Channel and on our website.
2. Advantages for the student
2.1. Students get the chance to prepare for the recording, so they get an extra bit of pressure to prepare, study, and improve. We can give the student as much time as the student wants, minimum one week.
2.2. The students can watch the entire class and listen to the lesson and what the teacher talked about a second time for better understanding.
2.3. Parents have a chance to see how the student is improving.
2.4. Teachers watch the video during a Teachers' meeting and discuss it, helping the teacher to improve their methods.
2.5. The student and their parents can have the video as a souvenir as the student gets older.
2.6. The videos often have English subtitles added with the English mistakes corrected so that students can watch it and see how to correct their errors.
3. Somethings important details for teachers
3. 1. They should not show any copyrighted materials, this means they cannot show pages of the scanned book by sharing their screen. A good idea is for the student to show their book on the video at the beginning of the class. Ask the student to show the book.
3. 2. It is the teacher's choice, how they want to organize the filmed lesson, but there is one condition: The review of the previous class is mandatory.
3. 3. We will film the class as many time as necessary.
