Every winter, I go to HIGH1 ski resort with my family. Even though there are snowstorms, I can find High1 because it is very colorful compared with the bright white snow.
This place is considered the youngest ski resort in Korea. It was only built about 7 years ago while other ski resorts were built more than 10 years ago. It is still in a stage of construction. Every year I go there, they make new buildings, new lifts, new gondolas and many other things. HIGH1 ski resort is our family's favorite place. We stay there every weekend of every winter. My brother and I ski at a level 1, which is about the level of a ski instructor. I am very proud of it.
Even though skiing is a bit exhausting, I really love to do it. So every year I wait excitedly for the ski season to come. Every time I get really tired during skiing, I think of myself doing what I love. When I ski down the mountain, my fatigue and my pain disappear as if they didn’t exist at all. Also, as I ski down through the other skiers, I feel like I am a race car driver participating in F1. The wind that blows on my face is cold, which feels strangely good and the fresh air makes me feel like I am being purified. When I finish skiing down and look up at the mountain, it looks as high and big as one of the Rocky Mountains.
Skiing is very fun. However, I have faced some dangerous situations. When I was going down the biggest and longest slope in HIGH1, someone bumped into me from behind, and I rolled down the slope. When I tried to find the person who did it, I could find anyone, the person ran away without apologizing. This accident could have sent me to the hospital. Another time I was skiing down a narrow slope and two skiers rushed to my side, one from the right and one from the left. If I bumped into them, I could have died. I am so lucky, I am still alive.
Another problem is that I’m already tired, when I arrive at the ski resort. Because it is a long drive, very uncomfortable and makes me crazy. Furthermore, I have to take care of myself a lot while skiing. When I go back home, my body feels very tired. But I am already looking forward to my next trip. I have never felt any regret about going to the ski resort.
